In a year that was a difficult one for many companies, film machinery maker Brückner Maschinenbau GmbH saw its business thrive.
In terms of incoming orders, the past fiscal year was the second most successful in the company s history, the Siegsdorf, Germany-based company reported.
Brückner Maschinenbau closed the year with an order intake of almost 800 million euros ($966.7 million), a significant increase over the 500 million euros ($604 million) recorded for the previous year. The company is projecting sales in excess of 550 million euros ($664 million) for the year 2021, vs. the 400 million euros ($483 million) achieved in 2020.

German firm Brückner Maschinenbau sold more than 45 lines in 2020, as topics such as hygiene and food safety manifested in packaging sales, particularly in Asia. The sales represent the company’s second most successful fiscal year.
The 2020 sales – up from 30 lines sold in 2019 – mean an order intake of almost €800 million ($966m), compared with €500m ($604m) the previous year. As the new orders will only become relevant for sales in the following year, a significant increase in sales to over €550m ($664m) is expected for 2021 (2020 was approximately €400m/$482m).
Stefan Neumann (left), chief financial officer for the film stretching line manufacturer, said: “Our order backlog extends well into 2023. In addition, we are currently pleased about two major orders from China.”
