(WLBT) - Students at Jackson State University were greeted with a welcome site Friday – truckloads of bottled water brought in by Mississippi State University. Students on the West Jackson campus have been without water for weeks, as the city works to restore service following the February winter storms. As of Friday, about 1,200 student residents were still without water, according to a news release.

UGA s MGC & NPHC host Middle Ground panel | Arts & Culture

The University of Georgia’s Multicultural Greek Council and National Pan-Hellenic Council met in a virtual panel on March 5 to answer the question: “Do Greeks of color think the same?” The MGC is an umbrella organization for multicultural fraternities and sororities nationally and at UGA. The NPHC is another umbrella council made up of several historically African American Greek life organizations, seven of which have chapters at UGA. Representatives from the two councils came together in an event to find a “middle ground” by discussing similarities between the organizations, the question of race, Greek life’s role in the COVID-19 pandemic and more. The conversation was moderated by the MGC president, Donna Chong and the NPHC president, Christiny Reeves.

UK Celebrates Women s History Month

of LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 5, 2021) Throughout the month of March, the University of Kentucky will recognize Women’s History Month with a series of events and special programs. Women’s History Month is about honoring the achievements and contributions women have made across the U.S. and throughout the world. The UK Martin Luther King (MLK) Center will host a variety of programs, in collaboration with its campus partners, in addition to the College of Arts and Sciences, the UK Women’s Forum, the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC) and other campus organizations. Many programs will honor UK women throughout the institution s history.
