More than 100 people attended Real Talk About Big Questions, hoping to find some answers to the big question of, How can the Ohio University community stand with, and support Asian and Pacific Islander populations?
Dr. Ji-Yeung Jang, interim executive director for Global Affairs, presided over the April 23 virtual event, co-sponsored by the Division of Diversity and Inclusion and the Office of Global Affairs at Ohio University.

OGDEN, Utah – Weber State University will host a virtual presentation for Asian Pacific American Heritage Month titled “Mobilizing Around Anti-Asian Racism,” May 13 from 6-7:30 p.m. via Zoom video conferencing.
“I am thrilled we have an opportunity to elevate and celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander heritage, history and culture at Weber State this May,” said Adrienne Andrews, assistant vice president for diversity and chief diversity officer. “I am hopeful our keynote speaker, Dr. Helen Zia, will spark a new conversation throughout the campus and community as we seek first to understand each other and then be understood by each other.”

Asian American women understand that the alleged murderer of eight people in Atlanta was acting in keeping with a culture filled with racialized and sexualized views of Asian women. Of the people murdered, four women were of Korean descent and two of Chinese heritage.
