Lithgow library to celebrate National Poetry Month Share AUGUSTA Lithgow Public Library will celebrate National Poetry Month by hosting Maine author Helen Rousseau and her “Poems for a World on Fire” at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 22, via Zoom. Rousseau says her book “was begun last year and focused on global warming, deforestation, loss of animal habitat, and the lack of action on our part. The coronavirus came along, which brought about so many more issues that we hear discussed in the news every day,” according to a news release from the library. “Poems for a World on Fire” is Rousseau’s third book of poetry. Her first two are titled “Early Childhood Education: A Memoir in Verse,” which is about growing up Catholic in the ’50s, and “Coming to the Edge: Fifty Poems for Writing and healing,” a resource for writing with prompts. She has been leading writing classes for 12 years.
