Christmas Carols with RBL Band in Torrevieja Municipal Theatre
Because of covid restrictions the audience was limited by ticket only to 350 people.
It really was an evening to remember, ably competed by Keith Nicol. The carol singing was led by Rebecca Holt and Shannon Campbell, accompanied by the Royal British Legion Concert Band under the musical direction of David Last with such festive favourites as Hark the Herald Angels Sing, Good King Wenceslas, White Christmas and Jingle Bells, the audience joined in with great enthusiasm.
The Asila Choir sang three Spanish favourites, Feliz Navidad, Fum Fum Fum and Las Campanas de Belen to great applause.

And as its choristers were practising for the concert, authorities issued an urgent plea after the pandemic decimated fundraising.
Yesterday a cathedral spokesman said: “Though we are delighted to bring this concert to you free of charge, we need your support more than ever as we face the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has had a catastrophic impact on the Cathedral.
“We are experiencing a substantial loss in visitor income, which we rely upon to cover the £7million annual cost of keeping St Paul’s open.
“Your support enables us to keep our doors open to serve the people of London and beyond into the future.

Christmas is meant to be, first and foremost, a celebration of our Savior’s birth. So amid the busyness, we as believers need to take time to savor the amazing gift God gave us all those ages ago. The Nativity story in Luke 1-2 details the beginning of Jesus’ life here on Earth as Immanuel, or “God with us.”
The images in this story evoke a sense of wonder and awe in so many hearts. In fact, many music composers have been inspired to base chants, songs and carols on these verses. One such hymn is called “The Gloria” or “Glory to God.” It is sung in the Catholic Church, as well as other denominations, especially during Advent and Lent.
