Those five letters hung over New York City for decades as monuments to Donald Trump the outsize developer, tabloid fixture, reality TV star and eventual unlikely U.S. president who claimed the city as his home.
But one-by-one the Trump tributes faded as his reputation did, struck from high rises, hotels and even ice rinks.

Mayor Bill de Blasio s effort to sever the city s four contracts with the Trump Organization is only the latest in a long divorce between the Big Apple and The Donald and even then three of the properties involved didn t publicly bear the name.

A 19-car-pileup during the height of the Nor easter was one of numerous storm-related crashes in the region, although most motorists stayed off roadways.
At least six people were injured in the multi-vehicle crash that shut down part of the Henry Hudson Parkway in upper Manhattan Wednesday, Dec. 16 during the evening hours as the snow was beginning to pile-up.
On Long Island, it s was a different story during the height of the storm with more than 200 crashes from 4:30 p.m. Wednesday to early Thursday.
Officials with the Suffolk County Police said currently there were six minor crashes, with most people staying off the roadways.

The first major snowstorm of the season left 10 inches in Central Park and more than a foot in some places. Few problems were reported, but drivers are urged to stay off the roads today.
Nearly 40 inches of snow was dumped on Binghamton, New York, as of Thursday morning, with widespread reports of snowfall over 3 feet in Broome County. A National Weather Service spokesperson said the storm sets a new two-day snowfall record.
The overnight snowfall in New York City eclipsed the entire amount recorded for all of last winter. There was just 4.8 inches of snow tallied in New York City last year.
Winter storm batters coast
Parts of the United States woke Thursday to more than 3 feet of snow and nearly 10,000 customers in New York, New Jersey and Connecticut were without power as a major winter storm hit the east coast, causing hundreds of car accidents and at least four people dead.
The winter storm blanketed parts of the eastern United States from the central Appalachians to New England. This is the first significant snowstorm to impact the Garden State since January 2018.
The National Weather Service reported that more than nine inches had fallen on East Rutherford in Bergen County, Newark in Essex County was buried under eleven inches of snow, and the Union County seat Elizabeth received 6.1 inches.

At least five people were killed in car crashes, tens of thousands of homes and businsses lost power and a sports dome collapsed as Winter Storm Gail dumped record amounts of snow in the Northeast Wednesday into Thursday.
Hundreds of crashes were reported during the snowy weather, including a deadly Pennsylvania pileup that involved at least 66 cars.
More than 70,000 power outages were reported Thursday morning as the storm moved through, bringing more than three feet of snow to some areas.
In Binghamton, New York, a sports dome billed as the largest of its kind in the U.S. collapsed under the weight of the snow. The privately owned dome at the Binghamton Sports Complex is popular for youth sports leagues and tournaments.
