Motorcycle Week rally to have vendors, beer tent

Beer tents and vendor spaces will be allowed at full capacity during this year’s Laconia Motorcycle Week rally, the City Council decided Monday night. The council opted to avoid stronger, pandemic-related restrictions.
Instead, the city will work to ensure best practices are followed to avoid the spread of COVID-19, including sanitizing stations, lifting up tent walls to improve airflow and requiring 25 feet of separation between entertainers and the crowd.

It looks like Laconia, New Hampshire’s Laconia Motorcycle Week is a go for 2021. The Laconia City Council has approved the return of pre-pandemic parking and traffic flow levels for this year’s event. The Council’s vote paves the way for a full capacity 98th Anniversary conduct of the rally. This year’s event will run from June 12 through June 20, 2021.
The rally has long been a mainstay of New Hampshire’s tourism industry. Laconia Motorcycle Week® organizers claim that it is the oldest motorcycle rally in the USA. And they say that they have the “2nd largest demographic of motorcycle riders.”

Laconia is being urged to allow beer tents during Motorcycle Week this year.
Charlie St. Clair, executive director of the Laconia Motorcycle Week Association, made the pitch to hold the special refreshment pavilions during the nine-day event.

CONCORD, NH – Former congressional candidate Eddie Edwards of Dover was unanimously confirmed as assistant commissioner of the Department of Safety and Gov. Chris Sununu formally nominated his chief legal counsel, John Formella of Portsmouth, to be the next attorney general at the Executive Council meeting Wednesday.
The Council also voted 4-1 to confirm McKenzie Snow of Washington, D.C., who formerly worked in the President Trump administration, as director of the Division of Learner Support in the New Hampshire Department of Education with District 2 Councilor Cinde Warmington – the only Democratic member of the five-member council – voting in opposition.
