Neil Tague Hatfields has acquired the remaining six-acre site within HBD Barnfield’s motorway junction scheme in Huyton. HBD Barnfield, a joint venture partnership between property developer HBD and Barnfield Group, delivered an 18,000 sq ft Aldi supermarket at the 11,5-acre site as phase one. Work is now under way on the second plot, a Euro Garages service station incorporating a McDonald’s and a Starbucks. Barnfield Construction will carry out all building works on the plot for Hatfields, a dealer for Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo models. The deal, for an undisclosed sum, represents the end of HBD Barnfield’s involvement at the site, where Savills and Mason Owen have acted as joint agents.

Charity helps Guiseley special needs school

In May 2016, following an Ofsted Inspection, Green Meadows Special Educational Needs School in Guiseley was judged to be inadequate in all areas, including safeguarding and was placed into Special Measures. A new leadership team was deployed to the school and the change of culture has had a profoundly positive impact on the pupils. But the school has limited resources and it is now being helped by children s charity Variety and the Big Build initiative to give their pupils what they vitally need.
