Pregis opening advanced manufacturing facility in Henry County, creating 150 jobs

ATLANTA – Gov. Brian P. Kemp announced on June 30 that Pregis, a leading manufacturer of protective packaging, will expand its presence in Georgia and plans to invest more than $14 million to open an advanced manufacturing facility in Henry County. This will immediately create 80 additional jobs in the region and ramp up to 150 opportunities as the operation scales over the next few years. “I want to thank Pregis for their commitment to creating advanced manufacturing and distribution jobs for hardworking Georgians,” said Kemp. “The company’s continued investment in the Peach State is a testament to our top-notch workforce training programs that prioritize manufacturing and to Georgia’s welcoming, pro-business environment.”

Henry County GOP makes pick for county treasurer From staff reports Henry County Republican precinct committeemen met to recommend a replacement for retiring County Treasurer Tim Wells on May 27 at the Cambridge Community and Youth Center. The committee had been asking interested parties to submit resumes and references to the county chairman in order to interview candidates interested in the unexpired term.  Rex Kiser was ultimately selected from the field of four, having previously served on the Henry County Board. He has a professional background in banking and real estate. Other candidates for the position were  CPA Dwayne Anderson of Lynn Center, a current Board member and 2014 Republican candidate for Treasurer; Kelly Vincent of Geneseo, the current chief deputy treasurer; and Nathan Ray, a farmer and investor from rural Osco.
