Full Armor Christian Academy students package 10K meals for Bangladesh orphanages WEBXTRA: Feed the need By Jeff Chavez | March 5, 2021 at 5:38 PM CST - Updated March 8 at 5:06 AM HENDERSON, Texas (KLTV) - Students at an East Texas school did their part in helping to feed hungry children in Bangladesh. Students in all grades at the Full Armor Christian Academy in Henderson spent the day filling up and boxing 10,000 meals to be sent out in partnership with the Feed the Need group. Josh Woolridge, the head of school for the Full Armor Christian Academy said the meals are meant to bless and especially give much-needed nutrition to orphanages in Bangladesh.

Henderson council passes tree-protection law

HENDERSON — The City Council has enacted a tree-protection ordinance that instructs future developers to save up to 40% of the tree canopy on their property. Monday’s vote — unanimous among the seven council members present — replaced an ordinance that merely required developers to clean up after cutting down trees, planting over any bare spaces they don’t immediately put a building on. Passage of the new law “was long overdue,” Mayor Eddie Ellington said, adding that with the development taking place within the city’s jurisdiction he thinks “this is a proactive approach to protect property owners well into the future.”

Capt. James Dukes said hotel management notified police of an “unwanted guest,” later identified as Brandon Isaac Harris, at about 3:30 a.m. Dukes said upon arrival at the scene, contact was made with Harris, who was armed, who then barricaded himself within a room.
