BLUEWATER â The findings of recent inspections of Bluewaterâs water systems were presented to councillors during the April 19 regular council meeting.
A report which was presented by Renee Hornick of the Ontario Clean Water Agency outlined theresults of three inspections from the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) of water systems in Varna, Zurich and Hensall, as well as an overview of the systemâs operations through 2020.

Hydro lines along Bayfield’s Main Street will be buried.
The results of public consultation about the Bayfield Main Street Revitalization Project, which is now slated to begin construction in the fall of 2022 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, were presented to councillors during a special May 4 meeting, and recommendations were made for the project moving forward in light of the feedback received.

The burying of hydro lines, recommended by municipal staff, adds an additional cost of $413,040 to the project, bringing the total estimate to roughly $2.8 million. Funding for the additional cost will be provided through the 2021 gas tax allocation.

A resident at Queensway Long-Term Care in Hensall was given the rare opportunity to connect with his all-time favourite football player Dan Marino.
Wes Maher came to live at Queensway in August 2018 at the age of 61. Heâs often talked about his love of sports, and how he played goalie when he was younger. He would often recollect the times when he himself would have a shutout, or the incredible games he would watch on television that would change sports statistics forever.
