A resident at Queensway Long-Term Care in Hensall was given the rare opportunity to connect with his all-time favourite football player Dan Marino.
Wes Maher came to live at Queensway in August 2018 at the age of 61. Heâs often talked about his love of sports, and how he played goalie when he was younger. He would often recollect the times when he himself would have a shutout, or the incredible games he would watch on television that would change sports statistics forever.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Huron are encouraging people to get up and move for mentoring and make a difference in their communities by challenging themselves to be active while raising pledges to support young people in Huron County
“Move for Mentoring is a pledge-based event to raise much-needed funds for Big Brothers Big Sisters of South Huron,” said executive director Amy Wilhelm. “In the past, we have always held Bowl for Kid’s Sake, a similar pledge-based event. Due to COVID-19, we have pivoted our event to Move for Mentoring, so that individuals can still participate and support our agency in a safe and socially distanced way.”
