She shared photos taken on Easter of her family members receiving COVID-19 vaccinations from Geraldine Drugs. We are told Geraldine Drugs recently received 100 doses of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine from the federal government.

Henagar City Council approves $2,000 Liberty Learning sponsorship

Henagar City Council approved a motion during the scheduled council meeting Monday night to sponsor two classrooms at Henagar Jr. High School through Liberty Learning Foundation in the amount of $2,000. The Liberty Learning Foundation is a non-profit organization facilitating active, immersive, civics and character programs in K-12 classrooms and orchestrating local events that empower schools, parents, local leaders, and businesses to take ownership in the future of community and country. The Liberty Learning Foundation can be found in school in DeKalb County and 49 counties in Alabama. They have been around this area since 2011 and service more than 50,000 students currently. 50 students at Henagar Jr. High currently participate in the program.

Henagar Council votes to purchase movie screen for events in city park

The City of Henagar will soon be equipped to regularly host a movie night in the park. At Monday night’s regular meeting, the Henagar City Council approved the purchase of a 21-foot inflatable movie screen and projector system that will be utilized to host events for the community. The council members also voted to sell 2.11 acres of land to Rodney Hammonds since Hammonds will be selling three acres of land to an incoming retail business. The council also voted to surplus the City’s back-up garbage truck, which is not suited well for the narrow roads in Henagar. In other business, the council:
