HOUSTON – The award-winning TV series ”The Texas Bucket List” shares the joy, wonder, beauty and excitement of Texas. Each week, host Shane McAuliffe sets out to add more people, places, food and music to a list that every Texan should experience. McAuliffe shared some of his favorite moments and what’s still to come as the show hits a big milestone: the 200th episode.
“I was hoping this show would last a couple years - just enough time to experience some of the incredible things that the Lone Star State has to offer,” said McAuliffe. “Thankfully viewership has been unreal. People are so enamored with Texas that this show has even gone on to become a national show on RFD-TV.”

Jeannie was born in Elberton, a small town in Eastern Georgia. Later in life, she lived in Atlanta Ga where she found her passion for baking. She baked a variety of pastries. Being from the south, baking pound cakes became her specialty. Her homemade recipe took a lifetime of love and care to perfect. In 1945, Jeannie cracked the code and put the finishing touches on her original recipe. KPRC 2 is proud to join tv stations across the country in airing this primetime special benefitting Feeding America.
KPRC 2 will air a one hour special Saturday evening at 8pm to raise funds for Feeding America, an organization supporting food banks and food pantries in Texas and across the country.
The program produced by The Grand Ole Opry, Circle Television, and Gray Television will raise awareness about increasing food insecurity due to the pandemic and recent extreme weather events.
KPRC 2 is one of the TV stations across the country dedicating air time to this important program and cause.

However, many are unaware that another African American woman was also part of this historic mission.
Her name is Sharon McDougle, a former suit tech for the space shuttle program who talked to Houston Life about her incredible story.

McDougle was responsible for processing the orange launch and re-entry pressure suit assemblies worn by all NASA space shuttle astronauts, including Jemison.
“When I was ‘suiting up’ up Mae, I didn’t realize how big it was because I had done it for so long in the Air Force prior to coming to Houston. So, it didn’t really hit me how big (it was) until 2017 when the movie ‘Hidden Figures’ came out and people were saying ‘You should tell your story.’ I assumed everybody knew because I was in
