August 3, 2021 WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) Students in Houston County were back in the classroom Tuesday. We stopped by Warner Robins High School to see how things were going. Principal Chris McCook says the first day went great. He says there was a lot of excitement throughout the day from both students and teachers. We asked him about his outlook for the rest of the year. “The situation we are in is fluid,” he said. “But if this year is like today, we’re in store for a great year here at Warner Robins High School. I love the fact that our kids and our students are all working together.”

Mack received 2,042 votes, Reid followed with 956 votes, Harless ended with 181 votes, while Walker captured 87 votes. Right now, I m just numb, I m ecstatic, I m honored, Mack said about his win.

Houston County students could see some big changes if the community votes yes on March 16th. The Education SPLOST fund is up for renewal every five years, and the Houston County School System already has plans for that 1 percent sales tax. In just the last five years, the E-SPLOST fund has added 900 classrooms, a brand new school, and new athletic facilities to the growing school system.
