Ongoing work on the Ho’olehua Water System may cause temporary water service interruptions for up to 40 customers, the state Department of Hawaiian Home Lands announced.
The water line service and fire hydrant replacement work, which began Monday, is part of the department’s two-year Ho’olehua Water System capital improvement project.
Construction will be conducted from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and is expected to be completed by May 31.
Goodfellow Brothers Inc., the contractor, will directly notify affected water system customers 24 hours in advance of any potential water shutoffs.
DHHL maintains four water systems statewide, including Ho’olehua and Kalama’ula on Molokai, Anahola on Kauai and Pu’ukapu on Hawaii island.
