About Those Two Game of Thrones Spin-Off Animated Series
Ever since the controversial season 8 ending of
Game of Thrones aired in 2019, fans of the show have been eagerly waiting for a sequel or spinoff series from HBO that would expand on the legends from the
GOT Universe. While there were several prequel talks, most of them got canceled by HBO before even getting a cast. The streaming platform under WarnerMedia recently announced it is developing two animated series that will take fans deeper into the world of
Westeros. Here is a look at all the projects the streaming giant is working on to expand on the

Deadline’s version of the premise, which is absolutely loaded with
Game Of Thrones lore: “The drama is expected to follow the journey made by warrior queen Princess Nymeria and the surviving members of the Rhoynars, who traveled from Essos to Dorne following their defeat by the Valyrian Freehold in the Second Spice War.”
Holy cow, those are some words. If none of that is clear to you, that premise would put it about 1,000 years before the stuff that happens in the original
Game Of Thrones. Historical figures that get referenced in the old show (like Nymeria) will show up, but there probably won’t be too many familiar things beyond that and all of the usual Westeros locations and general fantasy-themed death and misery.

Los Angeles-based Echo Theater Company, dedicated to creating new work for the theater, has announced the names of seven playwrights who will participate in the company s 2021 Playwrights Lab.
Facilitated by co-directors Brian Otaño and Hannah Wolf, playwrights Amanda L. Andrei, Diana Burbano, June Carryl, Ricardo Perez Gonzalez, Hannah Kenah, Liza Powel O Brien and LaDarrion Williams will work together to develop new material that will be presented in LABFest, the LAB s festival of public readings at the end of the year.

Hulu has released the first trailer for
MODOK, its upcoming animated show that will see Patton Oswalt voice the titular Marvel villain in a more light-hearted, Robot Chicken-style take on the franchise’s usual portentous superhero dramas. The show also got a release date: it’ll debut on May 21st on the streaming service.
MODOK (Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing) has been a long-running bad guy in Marvel Comics as the leader of the evil scientific group AIM. (A more serious take on the character serves as the primary antagonist for Square Enix’s
