Israel’s population has reached 9,327,000 million, the Central Bureau of Statistics said Monday in its annual report published ahead of Independence Day.
The report said some 74% of the population (6,894,000) are Jews, while 21% of the population (1,966,000) are Arabs.
Another 467,000 people are non-Arab Christians, those from minority religions and people listed as non-religious in the census. They account for the remaining 5%.

G7 condemns threatening Russian troop build-up near Ukraine

Foreign ministers from the G7 group of nations, including the United States, Britain and France, have condemned an increase in Russian troop numbers near its border with Ukraine and in the Russian-occupied region of Crimea. These large-scale troop movements, without prior notification, represent threatening and destabilizing activities, the joint statement released by Britain s foreign ministry said. We call on Russia to cease its provocations and to immediately de-escalate tensions in line with its international obligations, the statement added.

Report: Iran has identified person responsible for blackout at Natanz nuclear site

Iran said on Monday it had identified the person who disrupted flow of power at the Natanz nuclear facility that led to electricity outage in the site, Iran s Nournews website quoted intelligence sources as saying. The person has been identified . Necessary measures are being taken to arrest this person who caused the electricity outage in one of the halls at the Natanz site, the website reported.
It gave no details about the person.
