The majority of the briefing focused on empowerment through ownership structures in companies operating across all sectors of the economy. This, according to Heather Irvine, partner at legal firm Bowmans, is a key outcome for government and the next frontier of broad-based empowerment in the country. Analysing Patel’s address, Irvine said that much of the focus was on South Africa’s needs to build back its economy ‘differently and better’, to achieve a greater level of economic inclusion and attain higher levels of growth.

Michigan Ladder Company In Ypsilanti Closes Its Doors

Operations have ceased and doors have shut at the Michigan Ladder Company after more than a century in Ypsilanti.  President and owner Tom Harrison says that the pandemic shutdown was tough, but supply chain issues were the final rung in deciding to close.  When you can t get materials in a timely manner to make a ladder, then I m in the same situation I was in a year ago, which is I ll lose more customers.  The open letter posted to their website shares news of their closing and also their rich history.  Very proud of the fact that, you know, here we are the oldest ladder manufacturer in the United States, founded in 1901 in Ypsilanti, and we re in our original location, and we use and occupy our original buildings, and it s just kind of a really great story in the community plays a big part of that.

Yard Waste And Compost Collection Resumes In Ann Arbor

Yard bags and compost carts can be placed at the curb for weekly pickup starting this week in Ann Arbor.  Public Services Specialist Robert Kellar says our area has a very engaged composting population and that, while composting at home never really stops, commencement of curbside collection is a marker of spring.  “We start going to people s homes with our vehicles and picking up carts or paper yard bags, and that will run through December.”  Last year, the pandemic caused an interruption in the collection of compost bags.  This year, both carts and bags will be picked up on regular collection days.
