Fraser Coast residents are being asked to get involved in the master planning process for a new-look Pialba Town Centre.
Deputy Mayor Darren Everard said the Pialba Town Centre Revitalisation project aimed to create a city heart for Hervey Bay and make the area a cultural and creative drawcard.
âThe Fraser Coast Regional Council is partnering with the Australian Government through the Hinkler Regional Deal to breathe new life and opportunities into the Pialba Town Centre,â he said.
âStarting with the master plan, Council will look to the community to share their vision and ideas for what a future city heart might look like.

Hervey Bay’s new library and council administration building will be designed by an award-winning national architecture firm.
The Fraser Coast Regional Council voted unanimously at a special meeting on Wednesday to appoint architecture firm Group GSA.
Assistant Minister Regional Development and Territories Nola Marino said the new library and new administration building would be iconic spaces to revitalise the Pialba town centre and create a community hub as part of the Hinkler Regional Deal.
“The Australian Government is partnering with Fraser Coast Regional Council to deliver a new project that aims to breathe new life and opportunities into the Pialba Town Centre,” Assistant Minister Marino said.
Despite calls from the State Government to invest in the Bundaberg East Levee, the Federal Government appears to have no intention of dipping its toes in the water just yet.
During the recent state election campaign, Labor committed $42.5m for the project, which is not enough to get the levee off the ground.
Deputy Premier Steven Miles wrote to Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack last year after the election, asking for the Federal Government to contribute their share of the project, so they can begin to deliver the levee.
