SARALAND, Ala. (BP) Southern Baptist Convention President Ed Litton has appointed a seven-member task force to oversee a third-party review into the handling of sexual abuse claims by the SBC Executive Committee.
Calling formation of the task force his “first priority,” Litton said the seven members of the task force “represent pastors, as well as professionals in law, counseling, and abuse advocacy.”
The task force will be chaired by Bruce Frank, lead pastor of Biltmore Baptist Church of Arden, N.C. The vice chairman is Marshall Blalock, pastor of First Baptist Church of Charleston, S.C.
He earned his degree, got a job and began helping clients design their dream homes.
The young manâs ambition of drawing building plans for a living was being realized.
âIn the beginning I wasnât at all interested in (Godâs) call,â Cadiz resident Harrison recalls.
âI my mind I was set and ready to go to become my dream as an architect,â he said. âI wanted to work in the office. In my mind I was just really following what I wanted to do.â
But then the company he worked for went bankrupt, and Harrison was at loose ends.

CENTER POINT The city of Center Point handed out over 1,200 boxes of food to those impacted by the Jan. 25 tornado.
Center Point began accepting donations at its city hall on Tuesday, and have since collected a large amount of bottled water, non-perishable food products, clothing, diapers, blankets, tarps and much more. Those items can be picked up at 2209 Center Point Parkway, across from Waffle House.
Some items Scott says are still needed include, batteries, flashlights, cleaning supplies and towels. Those products can still be delivered to city hall.
On Saturday, the city gave away the boxes of food for those in need. Volunteers loaded cars so people could simply pull through to receive goods.
