THE grandmother of a baby girl stillborn has helped raise hundreds of pounds for Bolton Hospital ahead of what would have been her due date. Navie Abigail Wood was stillborn on November 9 and several family members and their friends have since set out on a million step walking challenge to raise money for the Bolton NHS Charitable Fund. Little Navie, born to Zoe Whitehead and Rob Wood, was due to be born on February 21. Now, her Grandma, Hilary Whitehead, is trying to pay back the kindness and care shown to her daughter. She said: After the maternity unit was so wonderful with Zoe, Rob and Navie, I decided to try and raise £100. So many babies die every year in late pregnancy or within the first weeks of life and when Zoe was in Bolton’s butterfly suite, there was another family in the Harper Rose suite who said they d join in with us too.
