New study findings show even elbow bumping between colleagues may not happen any time soon for a majority of office workers.
Smaller firms in Scotland are the least likely in the UK to make a return to office working, a new study has found.
Despite a push for a return to normality across the UK, home and hybrid working will linger on well into next year, according to Hitachi Capital Business Finance (HCBF).
Fewer than one in two small and medium-sized enterprises will see a return to a traditional office by December, HCBF said.
Less than half of small businesses will ask staff to return to the office full-time
Home working has been widely adopted during the pandemic and could be here to stay for many employees.
Fewer than one in two of small business owners plan to advise their staff to return to the office after 21 June, when government restrictions on home working will be lifted, according to new survey results.
Financial services company Hitachi Capital Business Finance polled over a thousand UK-based small business owners to find out how they plan the return to the office for their employees.
The results showed that 16 per cent plan to continue working remotely even after restrictions ease and almost a quarter said they will use a hybrid set up, rather than a full return to the office. Almost a third said they are now set up to work remotely for good.
