Kerstmarkt seeking sponsors for upcoming season

Kerstmarkt seeking sponsors for upcoming season Sentinel Staff HOLLAND A popular holiday market is offering unique sponsorship opportunities in downtown Holland. The Holland Friends of Art Kerstmarkt has made tax-deductible, leveled sponsorships available through Tuesday, June 1. The intention is keeping the annual Kerstmarkt tradition alive. Kerstmarkt  a Dutch-themed holiday market featuring unique gifts, decorations and often handmade items began in the late 1990s. The Holland Area Visitors Bureau envisioned the market as a new way to experience our award-winning downtown in its most magical season. The bureau researched European holiday markets, ultimately inspiring a sponsor-funded excursion to Europe. When bureau representatives returned, they had booth blueprints to create Kerstmarkt in Holland.

L Frank Baum Remembered on Day of His Passing in Holland

L. Frank Baum Remembered on Day of His Passing in Holland By Gary Stevens May 6, 2021 6:00 PM HOLLAND, MI (WHTC-AM/FM) – Perhaps lost among the buzz that Tulip Time brings to Holland is the commemoration of a cultural icon that has a link to the Tulip City. On May 6, 1919, L Frank Baum, the author of “The Wonderful Wizard of Oz” and most of the OZ literary franchise, passed away at the age of 62. He wrote some of those books in “Macatawa, Michigan,” which is currently part of Holland’s South Side, and Linda Hart of the Holland Area Visitors Bureau was among those who spearheaded the “Holland OZ Project” that helped create a number of statues outside of Herrick District Library based on the original book illustrations, as well as a “living” OZ floral book that goes on display at Centennial Park during the summer months.
