PFCU donates $3,966 to IM Kids 3rd Meal

IONIA A charity drive by employees at a credit union raised nearly $4,000 for IM Kids 3rd Meal.
For a minimum donation deducted from their paycheck, PFCU employees could wear jeans and tennis shoes at work. As a result, employees donated $3,966, according to a news release.
Employees choose a charity to donate the money to each quarter.
IM Kids 3rd Meal, which provides meals to food insecure children in Ionia and Montcalm counties, was selected as the recipient of PFCU’s first-quarter donation.
“This donation comes at the perfect time when we are trying to raise monies for a box truck to help with transportation of food,” stated Deborah Wagner, director of Grants & Special Projects at the Ionia County Intermediate School District.
PFCU donates backpacks, books to Great Start Ionia

PORTLAND A local credit union is donating backpacks filled with books and other supplies to benefit families in Ionia County.
PFCU is collaborating with the Ionia County Intermediate School District to provide 300 backpacks filled with supplies for March is Reading Month for Ionia County families, according to a press release from the credit union.
The donation is provided to Ionia County Great Start Collaborative, which is also known as Great Start Ionia and is part of the Ionia County ISD. Great Start Ionia is a partnership of local community agencies, businesses, philanthropic organizations, educators, public agency leaders and parents that ensure success for Ionia County children.
