HARTFORD State police arrested a 33-year-old city man Thursday charged with illegally carrying a 9mm handgun following a traffic stop.
Zabdiel Hueca faces charges of criminal possession of a pistol or revolver, illegal transfer of a high capacity magazine, as well as other weapon and motor vehicle offenses.
The investigating officer was traveling south on Interstate 91 near Exit 23 in Hartford when he spotted a gray Honda driven by Hueca with fake temporary tags.

A gas leak in Hartford Thursday morning led to some evacuations and the closure of Park Street.
Hartford police said there was a gas leak in the area of 286 Park St. and Park Street was closed between Washington and Hudson streets, but the road has reopened. HARTFORD, Conn. Police officials said there was no danger from what was originally described as a suspicious package that was found in Hartford Thursday morning.
Lieutenant Aaron Boisvert, spokesperson for the Hartford Police, said in an email, The suspicious package at 200 Retreat Avenue is all set. Security evacuated the building and the Bomb Squad responded. The package was just a med kit that that was left in a bathroom. Police are clearing the scene.
The incident happened at the Institute of Living, part of Hartford Healthcare and located across the street from Hartford Hospital.
