Sylvia Cordova was an innocent bystander whose home was simply the backdrop to a confrontation between people on the street outside stemming from a dispute in a different part of the city earlier in the day, completely unrelated to Cordova or her home, police Chief Jason Thody said Thursday.

Dakota Partners has been one of the most active apartment developers in Greater Hartford over the past five years, and despite some challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Waltham, Mass.-based firm remains as focused as ever on the region. That’s according to Dakota Partners co-founder and President Roberto Arista, who in a recent interview detailed his firm’s pandemic experiences of the past year and its future plans for Greater Hartford. “We are definitely looking to do more projects in and around the Hartford area,” Arista said. Mouta has been heavily focused on Hartford’s Parkville neighborhood while Lexington Partners’ Kenny a frequent business partner of parking magnate and realty investor Alan Lazowski has focused on the central business district and nearby suburbs like Glastonbury, West Hartford, Wethersfield and Windsor. Mouta’s biggest recent project was the Parkville Market food hall, a $5 million, 20,000-square-foot facility that debuted several months into the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Mouta is pursuing a 30,000-square-foot expansion that will include a gaming area, bar, and potentially a brew pub.
