An Arcadia man was taken into custody early Saturday morning after leading Carroll Police on a foot chase. Officers were checking on a person who was in Northwest Park after posted hours, at approximately 4:38 a.m., when the subject, 39-year-old Chad Alvin Prichard, fled. Prichard was apprehended near 15
th and Harriet Avenue a short time later and arrested on a Greene County warrant. During his arrest, a substance believed to be methamphetamine was located. Further charges are pending results from the Division of Criminal Investigation (DCI) laboratory.

A string of several house fires in south Baltimore early Christmas morning is under investigation.Firefighters were called around 1:30 a.m. Friday to Hinsdale Drive for a fire at a house that was occupied. No injuries were reported, but the rowhome was gutted and destroyed. The fire caused intense damage to both floors while debris was left scattered on the front lawn.Firefighters were then called around 3:15 a.m. to Harman Avenue and Puget Street for another fire, this time, at a vacant house.Then, just before 4:30 a.m., a third fire broke out on Harriet Avenue, and on that same block, there was a fourth fire about an hour later. Both of those fires broke out at vacant homes.There was also a fifth house fire being investigated in east Baltimore.The cause of all the fires remains under investigation. There s no immediate word on whether any of the fires were connected.
