Mark Poag, 59, was charged Friday with first-degree sodomy. According to a probable cause statement, the 78-year-old woman got a note from her doctor earlier this year requesting that her mail be brought to the door so she did not have to walk to the mailbox on the street to collect it. On one occasion in February, Poag delivered mail to the woman s house and she invited him inside to drop it off. The statement says instead of leaving after setting the mail on the counter, however, Poag followed the woman into the bedroom, threw her onto the bed and tried to sexually assault her.
