A motorist captured video of Coast law enforcement officials firing more than 20 shots at the car of a double murder suspect from Louisiana who died as a result.
The shooting happened after the suspect, Eric Derell Smith, of Baton Rouge, led police on a vehicle pursuit that began in Baton Rouge and ended in Harrison County. Smith’s infant son was inside the car.

The baby boy, Switzer told the Sun Herald, appears to have died of either a gunshot wound or shrapnel from a gunshot but he said he is waiting on autopsy results before he will be able to confirm the cause of death.
The infant was in a vehicle driven by his father, Eric Derell Smith, according to a story by the Associated Press.
The child was hospitalized following the police chase and was transferred to a hospital in Mobile after first being taken to a hospital in Biloxi.
