Charles Friddle, an incumbent Second Ward representative on Elkins City Council, retired from FirstEnergy, parent of Mon Power, after 33 years of service.
A native of Petersburg, he has lived in Morgantown, Moorefield, Weston, Clarksburg and moved to Elkins in 1984.
He graduated from West Virginia University in 1974 with a degree in Business Administration and a major in Marketing. He has spent the majority of his career specializing in Economic Development.
Currently he is a member of the Randolph County Development Authority, was the director of the Harrison County Development Authority and served on the Development Authority in Hardy County.
CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WV News) â The Harrison County Commission on Wednesday will discuss a property agreement for a medical cannabis facility, the upcoming appointment of a new county clerk and appointments to boards in what is expected to be a short meeting before the New Year.
Last month, the Harrison County Development Authority approved a site development agreement with Harvest Care Medical LLC that would allow for the transfer of property near the North Central West Virginia Airport in exchange for development work at the site of the companyâs planned state-of-the-art medical cannabis and processing plant.
Under the agreement approved by the Development Authority, Harvest Care Medical will perform site development work, including demolition of an old house, installation of utilities and construction of an access road at a price tag of around $8-10 million, Harrison County Commissioner David Hinkle has said.
BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. (WV News) â The Benedum Airport Authority recognized two of its members who will soon be leaving the board.
Board members Buck Thompson and Ron Watson were commended for their service to the Benedum Airport Authority before the end of their respective terms. Thompsonâs final day as a member is March 1 while Watsonâs last day is Dec. 31.
Airport Director Rick Rock congratulated Thompson on 24 years of service with the airport.
