Britain s Strangest Hauntings
A recent study suggested Britain has more ghosts than any country on Earth apart from America. Whether you believe in the supernatural or not, the UK does seem to have more than its fair share of reported hauntings and we specialise in stories that are truly deeply weird…
In a new BBC Radio 4 podcast series, The Battersea Poltergeist, Danny Robins investigates one of Britain’s strangest hauntings and it led him to root through some of the other odd, creepy ghost stories our country has spawned. Price says Biden administration means opportunities for Fairfield
Mayor Harry Price
FAIRFIELD Mayor Harry Price called on the City Council this week to develop a legislative platform – and to do it quickly.
“We need to be in Washington before the markups, in March, April,” Price said in a phone interview Wednesday.
Markups is a reference to the rewriting of proposed legislation in committees or by a legislative body, and provides opportunities to add or eliminate portions of bills.
Price during the Tuesday council meeting told the council that the new Biden administration means new opportunities for the city. Specifically, he said he believes earmarks will be back in vogue, allowing influential representatives to write into appropriation bills funding for specific recipients.
Fairfield welcomes 2 new council members, 2 returnees
Both had sought council seats in prior elections.
The Nov. 3 election was the first done by district. Panduro will represent District 5 and serve a two-year term. Tonnesen will speak for District 2 for the next four years.
Rick Vaccaro and Vice Mayor Pam Bertani were re-elected to the council but for the first time representing a district rather than the entire city. Vaccaro represents District 4. Bertani ran unopposed and represents District 6.
