Listening to the sounds of DJ Rockstar
Harry Taylor aka DJ Rockstar
Harry L. Taylor III is on the school beat as an 8th Police District officer by day, but by night and weekend transforms into DJ Rockstar.
Taylor, 44, who grew up in the Hill Creek housing project and graduated from Northeast High School, began his disc jockey career at age 18 in bars in Philadelphia and Wildwood.
A former Police Explorer, he became a police officer at age 20 and has worked in the 16th and 8th districts, including a stint as the community relations officer in the 8th. He expects to spend another 10 years on the force, and thinks his DJ gigs can last for a lifetime.

While the new landlord of the Magdala pub in South Hill Park decided to delay its grand reopening, a pub memorabilia fan in America has turned up a remarkable piece of history which will whet drinkers appetites.
Thom Wolke was helping his aunt and uncle sort through a collection of antiques when he spotted an unusual wooden and brass item.
He had found a wax sealer used for bottling spirits that he thinks dates to the late 19th century.
AFL superstar Garry Ablett Jr. has revealed he could return to the game halfway through this season after retiring following his team s 2020 Grand Final defeat.
The 36-year-old decided to leave the game with an impressive 357 elite level matches under his belt after the Richmond Tigers convincingly beat the Geelong Cats in October last year.
His retirement came after a year where Ablett and wife Jordan were rocked by the devastating diagnosis of his son Levi, 2, with a rare degenerative disease, and the death of her mother Trudy after a cancer battle.
But in an interview with The Herald Sun on Saturday, the dual Brownlow medalist said he had spoken to Geelong officials about signing up in the mid-season draft under a short contract that would see him play in the finals.
The three previously had been unsuccessful. That was a turning point.

The Flying Squad set up surveillance on that car and was able to interrupt a break-in in Barnet.
Shortly afterwards, the gang, still under surveillance, tried to rob the two police officers.
The stolen car was ditched in Gordon House Road
