UNH unveils graduation plans for Classes of 2020 and 2021 DURHAM - University of New Hampshire Class of 2020 graduates will be able to officially turn their tassels on Saturday, May 15, 2021 per an email from the school’s commencement office. Two ceremonies will be held outside that day, one at 10 a.m. and one at 4 p.m., to recognize the achievements of last year’s senior Wildcats, whose ceremony was postponed due to the fierce onset of COVID-19 last spring.  “Like 2020 itself, your goals and accomplishments are unprecedented. So join your classmates in May to finally honor all your successes,” the email states.

That’s according to a lawsuit filed in federal court Jan. 11.   The suit, filed by New Hampshire Legal Assistance, Disability Rights Center – New Hampshire, AARP Foundation, and the Manchester office of Nixon Peabody LLP, pertains to New Hampshire residents who depend on the state to provide them with Medicaid-funded long-term care and the state’s failure to properly administer its Choices for Independence (“CFI”) Medicaid waiver.  The suit alleges that New Hampshire’s failure to deliver CFI services places a class of individuals at risk of unnecessary and dangerous institutionalization in long-term-care facilities.

New Hampshire residents who depend on the state to provide them with Medicaid-funded long-term care are suing the state for its failure to properly administer its Choices for Independence (“CFI”) Medicaid waiver. New Hampshire Legal Assistance, Disability Rights Center – New Hampshire, AARP Foundation, and the Manchester office of Nixon Peabody LLP represent older adults and persons with disabilities enrolled in the CFI program who filed a lawsuit in federal court today on behalf of themselves and other CFI participants. They allege that New Hampshire’s failure to deliver CFI services places them at risk of unnecessary and dangerous institutionalization in nursing facilities.
