Updated: 9:51 AM EST January 28, 2021 HAMPTON, Va. Police are working to learn what led up to a shooting in Hampton Wednesday afternoon that sent a man to the hospital with injuries. Dispatchers were notified about a shooting shortly before 3:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 600 block of Homestead Avenue. That s in a residential area not far from the downtown area. A 23-year-old man was rushed to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, but his wounds were later downgraded to non-life-threatening.  Investigators said he was in front of a home when he was shot. Police say the victim doesn t know the person who shot him.
