Dated: 12/30/2020 10:49:42 AM Obituary The nonagenarian poet who was born as Hans Raj Abrol died aged 90 in Jammu city Sad news about the death of eminent Urdu poet, Arsh Sahbai, transported me to ‘Kul Hind Mushaira’, which was held at Jammu’s Abhinav Theatre in 2006: A famous poet and film-lyricist, suddenly stops in the middle of his recital. Urdu’s major poet Arsh Sehbai no more Urdu’s major poet Arsh Sehbai no more JAMMU, Dec 27: Urdu’s major and Jammu’s foremost poet Arsh Sehbai is no more. Born as Hans Raj Abrol on 3rd December 1930, at village Seri, he later migrated to Jammu and settled in Resham Ghar Colony, Jammu. He started writing poetry at an early age under the pen name Arsh Sehbai. For his poetic excellence, he enjoyed popularity and admiration both in India and Pakistan. The nonagenarian poet who had retired as an administrative officer from All India Radio was one of the most celebrated and awarded poets of the J&K. He was three times bestowed with the State Award.
