Kennewick PD Promotes Two Officers to Sergeant

KPD has announced promotions for two outstanding men to the rank of sergeant.   The posting was made earlier today on the KPD Facebook page. It s been a busy week of swearing, er, swearing in at KPD HQ. Earlier in the week, the two newest officers to join the force, one from Finley, the other originally from Florida, took the oath to protect and to serve, and earlier this morning two veteran officers were promoted to the rank of sergeant. KPD - Sgt. Steve Thatsana Sergeant Steve Thatsana grew up in Richland, WA, where he flew high as a Falcon, attending Hanford High School. After graduation, he joined the Army, serving three years in the military. He started his career in law enforcement with the Pasco Police Department in November of 2002, spending 12 years in various specialty assignments.

Don K Wilkinson

Don K. Wilkinson, 71, of Payette Idaho took leave of this world on March 31, 2021, at his home, amid family and friends, following a lengthy battle with cancer. After retiring, he settled in western Idaho in 2007. Over the years, many miles, and challenges, the “big guy” stockpiled many long-term friends and associates while journeying his way home. Born to Don and Pauline Wilkinson in April of 1949, in Hanford, California, Don grew up on a diversified farm in the Guernsey area while attending Lakeside Elementary and Hanford High School. Following graduation from high school, he obtained a degree in General Agriculture/Biology from Fresno State University in 1971 and a Lifetime Teaching Credential through U.C. Davis. Don taught high school Agriculture and Technology in California, Oregon and Idaho.
