Tourism stakeholders gather to discuss their demands

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], June 3 (ANI): Ahead of the cabinet meeting, the stakeholders of the tourism industry gather at the capital city, Shimla on Thursday to draw the state government s attention to the grave condition of the tourism industry amid the Covid-19 pandemic.
The stakeholders of the industry, including hoteliers, taxi operators, travel agents, adventure tourism operations, and others, gathered to discuss and plan for their demands from the government.
Talking of the major credit issue the industry is already facing, Pratap Chauhan, owner of an adventure resort at Hatu Peak, said My business has been completely shut for almost the second consecutive year now. My major concern is of being declared as a non-performing asset, as my unit is on credit .

Shimla/Manali, Dec 23 : If you are heading to the hills of Himachal and want to enjoy the snowy landscape amid the Yuletide spirit, extend your holidays as the Met office on Wednesday forecast snow from December 27. The western disturbances will be active in the region from December 27 with chances of snowfall across the state till December 28, Manmohan Singh, Director of the local India Meteorological Department, told IANS.

I was on a road trip from Shimla to Manali via Kinnaur, Sangla Valley, Lahaul and Spiti, passing through the famous Kunzum Pass that opens only for a small window of time during July-August. Our first stop was Thanedar, not too far from Shimla.
On a foggy day, we climbed the Hatu Peak, with the hope that the fog would eventually lift and allow us to take in the beauty of the Himachal landscape. It had other plans though. I saw our first Kathkuni or stone-and-wood temple on its peak, dedicated to Hatu Mata. Surrounded by fog, the temple appeared even more mystical.
