BY DAY, Herefordshire’s beauty spots and scenic rural areas are enjoyed by families on a day out. But by night, they are being used as a rendezvous spot for those who partake in ‘dogging’ which is described as the practice of watching or engaging in exhibitionist sexual activity in a public place. These Herefordshire areas have been listed across several adult websites, with the exhibitionists rating and reviewing the spots and explaining exactly where to rendezvous to avoid public detection. Dogging itself is not illegal, but it can be if another person sees the act. If it causes outrage to a witness, an offence may be committed.

The B4224 road, from Fiddler’s Green to Fownhope, was severely damaged by Storm Dennis in February with a substantial part of the carriage way collapsing. The B4224, the main road through Fownhope to Hereford collapsed back in February 2020 and has just celebrated its first birthday. Recently residents have been informed that the road will not be opened till April . It has caused a lot of problems and strain to residents having to use the diversion up through Woolhope/ Haugh Woods causing damage to that road with traffic and also the wildlife. The council is a shambles. They keep on wasting tax payers money and I think the residents of Fownhope should have a free year of not paying Council Tax or at least a rebate.
AN ESCAPED pig is reported to have chased a woman in a popular Herefordshire walking spot. Police in Herefordshire said this morning (February 16) they had received a report of a pig chasing a woman in Haugh Woods, near Fownhope. The pig is described as pink with brown spots and it is unclear how it came to be in the woods. At this time we are unsure whether he s taken inspiration from Steve McQueen and planned his great escape, or someone has lost him whilst taking him for a walk, a spokesperson for Hereford Safer Neighbourhood Team said.
