Ennahdha, principal parti (islamiste) au Parlement tunisien, a fustigé lundi la décision du président, Kais Saied de suspendre les activités du Parlement et de démettre le Premier ministre, Hichem Mechichi, dénonçant «un coup d’Etat contre la révolution et la Constitution».
Dimanche soir, après une journée de manifestations dans de nombreuses villes de Tunisie, notamment contre la gestion de l’épidémie du coronavirus par le gouvernement de Hichem Mechichi, Saied a limogé ce dernier et annoncé «le gel» des activités du Parlement pour 30 jours, en vertu de l’article 80 de la Constitution, qui envisage des mesures exceptionnelles en cas de «péril imminent».

Tunisian President Kais Saied has appointed a new interior minister days after seizing control of the government and freezing the parliament, pledging to protect civil rights and respect freedoms.
Saied appointed former national security adviser Ridha Garsalaoui on Thursday to run the country’s Interior Ministry and also vowed to implement the constitution and safeguard people’s rights and freedoms.
