An article on Page A1 in Thursday’s edition of Havre Daily News about the Havre School Board election reported that candidate Erin Pulse had not responded to calls asking for an interview. Pulse called Havre Daily News to say she did not realize the paper had tried to call her. Havre Daily News had called the number provided by the school district as Pulse’s contact information and left messages.

Editor s Note: Havre School Board candidate Erin Pulse said she did not receive any of the three messages Havre Daily News left in attempt to interview her for a candidate profile. Following is information she sent Havre Daily News about her candidacy. Information on the other candidates can be found in Thursday s edition of Havre Daily News and at www.havredailynews.com. Erin Pulse is asking for people s votes in her candidacy for the Havre School Board. She is one of five vying for two three-year terms on the board. The others are incumbent Lorraine Larson and Jacob Ingram, Michele Hold.

I ask for people’s votes to let me continue in the position on the Havre School Board I was appointed to this year. My tenure as a 40-year veteran educator will help bring education and experience to the board. I taught special education and worked as the school psychologist for the district and also worked with non-special needs students. I also have experience from when I coached track and girls basketball and spent time as the area coordinator for Special Olympics.

Pulse called Havre Daily News Thursday afternoon to say she had not realized the paper had called her. Havre Daily News called the number provided by the school district as contact information and left messages.
Ingram said he was not available for interview Wednesday but tried to call Havre Daily News Thursday evening. The article was printed Thursday morning. The original version of this story used the wrong day, Thursday, to say when he agreed to be interviewed although the reporter understood the intervie.
