February 17, 2021 at 8:29 am This month the Hawaiʻi Island Police Department will be holding talk story sessions with members of the community. “Coffee with a Cop” allows residents the opportunity to get to know their police officers over a cup of coffee. These events have no specific agenda.  Conversation topics can range from personal stories to neighborhood issues. This month’s events will take place from 8:00 am to 10:00 am at the following locations: Friday, February 19, 2021, at the Kona Mountain Coffee Co., 73-4038 Hulikoa Drive. Friday, February 26, 2021, at Kona Coffee & Tea, 74-5588 Palani Road. To stick with safety protocols, officers will adhere to all social distancing guidelines including maintaining a 6 foot distance and mask wearing. They will also be restricting access when maximum capacity is reached. In addition, tables and chairs will be sanitized after each use.
