A 28-year-old man was killed in an early morning shooting Thursday at a local Jackson nightclub, police say.
The Jackson Police Department was called to investigate the shooting that occurred around 4:20 a.m. at the Aces Gentlemen s Club on the 900 block of West Street.
Spokesperson Sam Brown said the man was shot by Charlie Thomas. A security guard then shot Thomas, who was taken to a local hospital where he is listed in critical condition, Brown said.

A Jackson restaurant is turning to the community for help after a brawl broke out at the establishment, shocking customers and leaving the dining area in shambles.
The incident happened at the Juicy Seafood restaurant on Ridgewood Court Drive in Jackson Saturday afternoon.
In a video widely circulated on social media, two groups of people are shown arguing with one another before starting to throw chairs and napkin dispensers. A fight broke out between the groups soon afterward, where people toppled tables and sent other patrons scrambling to get out of the way.
