GURUGRAM: School enrolment numbers for the 2021-22 session in Haryana have set off alarm bells. More than 12 lakh students registered with private schools last year have disappeared from the radar. The sharp plunge showed up in data on the state government’s MIS portal, where all enrolled students are registered. This is a sheer 42% drop from 29.83 lakh in 2020-21.

Private schools seek permission to restart for Class V onwards

Ambala, January 6  The private school operators in Haryana have started raising the demand to restart the physical classes from Class V onwards. Earlier the government had allowed to restart physical class from IX to XII.  Saurabh Kapoor, president Integrated Private School Welfare Society said that the government had earlier allowed to run classes from Class IX to XII. The way Punjab government has allowed the schools to run classes from Vth onwards, the Haryana government should also allow the same. The students have already suffered academic loss and even the parents are willing to send their children to schools.  Prashant Munjal, state vice-president Haryana Progressive School Conference, said, “The school operators have been discharging their duties by providing online education to children and the level of education will improve further when the students will start attending their classes in physical mode.”
