Lyon Water District Issues Boil Water Advisory For Large Portion Of Customers

The Lyon County Water District has issued a Boil Water Advisory for a large portion of its customers. According to officials with the Water District, the advisory went into effect Wednesday morning and begins at Hammonds Road on State Route 93 North to Highway 62 West along with customers south and west of Hammonds Road to Barkley Dam. Officials say this includes Poplar Creek Road, State Route 810 North, State Route 810 South, Highway 62 West, and all roads leading off of these highways. The boil water advisory also includes customers who live south or west of Highway 93 North. The following roads are under the Boil Water Advisory:

Crews saved two drivers in two separate incidents yesterday (December 28). The first occurred in Hammonds Road, Sandon shortly after 6.30pm after a man got out of his car after driving into a flooded road but became stuck in water up to his chest. Firefighters waded into the water to bring him to safety more than an hour later. An ambulance was called as the man showed signs of hypothermia. A diversion was set up to stop drivers entering the road. Crews were also called to Hoe Mill Road, Woodham Walter around 5pm where a person was trapped in their car after driving into flood water.
