HALIFAX Halifax police have charged two women in two days for stunting on N.S. Highway 102. On Thursday, a member of Halifax Regional Police’s traffic unit spotted a car travelling at a high rate of speed on Highway 102 near Hammonds Plains Road in Bedford. Police say the officer clocked the vehicle at 152 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone. The driver, a 47-year-old woman from Sackville, N.S., was charged with stunting a charge automatically laid when a vehicle is travelling more than 50 km/h over the speed limit. On Friday morning, a member of Halifax Regional Police’s traffic unit spotted a car travelling at a high rate of speed on Highway 102 near Bayers Road in Halifax. Police say the officer clocked the vehicle at 106 km/hr in a 50 km/hr zone.
HALIFAX A Bedford, N.S. man has been charged with stunting after police say he was caught driving 55 kilometres over the speed limit on a Halifax highway Friday afternoon. At approximately 1:15 p.m. on May 7, a member of Halifax Regional Police’s traffic unit spotted a car travelling at a high rate of speed on Highway 102 near the Hammonds Plains Road in Bedford. Police say the officer clocked the vehicle at 155 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone. The driver, a 35-year-old Bedford man, was charged with stunting a charge automatically laid when a vehicle is travelling more than 50 km/h over the speed limit.
HALIFAX The police have arrested two Halifax area residents for impaired driving Wednesday after both provided breath samples twice the limit. At 10:25 a.m. on April 14, the RCMP stopped a vehicle on Cow Bay Road in Eastern Passage, N.S., after the driver was showing signs of impairment. Police say the driver, a 39-year-old man from Cole Harbour, N.S., provided breath samples that were three times the legal limit. He was transported to the RCMP s Cole Harbour detachment and later released. Approximately two hours later, the police also arrested a 48-year-old man from Hammonds Plains, N.S., who was showing signs of impaired driving. The RCMP stopped the vehicle on Hammonds Plains Road in Upper Tantallon, N.S. after police say his breath sample was twice the limit.
