Department director Hamidi Adam said the raid was conducted at 11.30pm following complaints from local residents that many foreigners were living in crowded conditions in several blocks of an apartment complex. Immigration: 205 undocumented migrants nabbed in Pudu apartment raid

KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 205 undocumented immigrants were detained by the Immigration Department following a raid on an apartment in Pudu here. Kuala Lumpur Immigration director Hamidi Adam said the department inspected 425 individuals during the operation, which was conducted at about 11.30pm on Friday (March 5). We detained 205 foreigners aged between 20 and 40 years old. They were from Bangladesh, Indonesia and Nepal, he said when met at the raid location on Saturday (March 6). Among the offences were overstaying and not having valid documents, passes or permits, he added. Some of the individuals detained have been in the country since 2016. They claimed they had no jobs while others were retrenched, he said.
