Warren County Woman Pleads Guilty To Child s Death | News, Sports, Jobs

jcotton@timesobserver.com WARREN, Pa. The Warren woman charged in connection with the drowning death of her 2-year-old child in Hatch Run last August has pleaded guilty to felony child endangerment. Nichol V. Barrett, 25, 3435 Conewango Ave. entered the plea before President Judge Maureen Skerda on Thursday at the Warren County Courthouse. Barrett and her husband, Richard, were both charged with three felony counts of endangering the welfare of a child in October. District Attorney Rob Greene said that the child is “deceased due to the criminal act.” He said Barrett has “suffered” as a result of the “horrible event” but “should still pay the price.”

Photo by Josh Cotton WARREN, Pa. A Warren, Pa., man convicted as a sexual offender in Florida in 1996 has been charged with rape of a child dating back as far as 1986. Richard D. Barrett, 54, 3435 Conewango Ave., was charged again on Wednesday. Back in December, he was charged with raping a child and, three months before that, charged with felony endangerment in connection with the drowning death of a 2-year-old child in Hatch Run earlier in the year.

SKERDA UPHOLDS SANDUSKY SENTENCE The Associated Press reported in January that Warren County President Judge Maureen Skerda to have his 30- to 60-year child molestation sentence reduced during a brief hearing Tuesday.
