Rutgers has hit the ground running in its effort to address its biggest needs in 2022. The staff added pledges from four massive offensive linemen over the last week a resounding response to missing out on top in-state targets from New Jersey’s 2021 class down the stretch. Following a two-game winning streak, Seton Hall is now firmly back in the NCAA Tournament, according to bracketology experts.
The Pirates are an 11 seed in the latest bracket, according to both Mike DeCourcy of FOX Sports, while Joe Lunardi of ESPN has them as a 10 seed.
“For me and my teammates, it’s a dream to make the NCAA Tournament,” senior Myles Cale said Saturday after scoring 20 points in an 80-73 win over UConn at Gampel Pavilion. “You grow up watching it on TV and you just want to be a part of it.”

Rutgers hit the next recruiting cycle running, landing a commitment from Hudson Catholic (Jersey City, N.J.) junior offensive tackle Taj White, who has four-star upside. White committed to Rutgers on Wednesday night following a zoom call with multiple staff members and finished off by head coach Greg Schiano.
“Last night, I was on then phone with coach (Augie) Hoffmann. We were really just talking about life at first then he started to get into the free NCCA year and scholarship situation,” said White, who stands 6-6, 295 pounds.” I just wanted to secure my spot early. I knew that was the place I wanted to go. I was just waiting for the right time.

The Hudson Catholic High School boys’ basketball team was at the pinnacle of all local squads, having won a record seven straight Hudson County championships prior to two seasons ago.
But then upstart Union City knocked the Hawks from their perch and last year, it was St. Peter’s Prep’s turn, and suddenly, almost too swiftly, Hudson Catholic went from being a dominant dynasty to an almost afterthought.

The Lincoln High School boysâ basketball team won 20 games for a second consecutive season a year ago, advancing all the way to the NJSIAA Central Jersey Group II semifinals before falling to Holmdel, finishing their season with a stellar 20-7 record.

Bill Zasowski enters his fifth season having the tough task of trying to rebuild the Lionsâ roster and keep the program as competitive as it always has been.
âWe only have two kids back from last year on the roster,â Zasowski said. âWe have a couple of kids who played football who are playing basketball this year for the first time. We have a couple of freshmen who weâre trying to bring up to speed. But we havenât had the time to get kids ready.â
