Sophomore center Chol Marial announced his decision to transfer from Maryland. Marial arrived on campus as a freshman requiring surgery to repair stress fractures in both of his legs. After recovery, he failed to crack the rotation for the Terps. He played in 30 total games, but started in just one while averaging 5.9 minutes over his career. As a sophomore, Marial averaged 1.6 points and 1.1 rebounds per game.
Freshman reserve point guard Aquan Smart has also announced he will transfer from the program. Smart played in 22 games this past season, but saw just 7.3 minutes per game total while averaging 1.4 points and 0.6 assists per game. He had essentially fallen out of the rotation by the end of the season.
